LEXINGTON, S.C. (WIS) – A body discovered in a wooded area on Roundtree Court near Gaston on Thursday has been confirmed to be that of a man who had been reported missing in May.
The deceased has been identified as Joseph Matthew Kosmos, aged 37, from Lexington, according to a statement released by Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher.
The body was found by a concerned citizen who contacted emergency services, prompting an investigation by local authorities.
An autopsy to determine the cause of death has been scheduled to take place on Tuesday, June 11 at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) in Charleston.
The investigation into the circumstances surrounding Kosmos’s death is ongoing, with both the Lexington County Coroner’s Office and the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department working together to gather information and establish what happened.
