ROME, NY (WUTR/WFXV/WPNY) — A Rome woman has been taken into custody by Rome Police following a domestic altercation that resulted in a stabbing.

Authorities responded to a distress call in the 1300 block of Floyd Avenue around 4 pm on Thursday, June 6. Upon arrival, they encountered a male victim with a puncture wound, indicating a violent altercation had taken place.

The victim recounted the events leading up to the stabbing, attributing the act to the suspect, identified as 24-year-old Emily Ulrick from Rome. The victim disclosed sustaining a puncture wound to his upper arm during the altercation. Fortunately, the injuries were deemed non-life threatening by medical personnel.

After an investigation, Emily Ulrick was apprehended and transported to the Rome Police Department for processing. Subsequently, she was transferred to the Oneida County Jail for arraignment on the charges brought against her.

Charges Faced by Emily Ulrick:

  • Second-degree Assault – a Class B Violent Felony
  • Fourth-degree Criminal Possession of a Weapon – a Class A Misdemeanor
