Bhubaneswar: A heartbreaking incident unfolded in Ankura village under Patana police limits in Keonjhar district, as a 20-year-old girl named Sakuntala allegedly took her own life. The tragic event occurred after her parents had reportedly arranged her marriage against her wishes.

The victim, identified as Bati Buliuli’s daughter Sakuntala, was discovered hanging in her bedroom by her family members on Thursday morning. This shocking discovery came after Sakuntala had gone to sleep following dinner the previous night.

Upon receiving the distressing news, the local police promptly arrived at the scene, recovered the body, and transported it to the Patana Community Health Centre for further examination through a post-mortem procedure. However, the exact circumstances surrounding Sakuntala’s untimely death remain unclear at this time.
