MORENO VALLEY, CA (June 6, 2024) – The victim of a fatal pedestrian accident on the 60 Freeway in Moreno Valley has been identified as 22-year-old Ernestine Jones. The incident occurred in the early hours of Thursday morning.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the tragic event took place on June 6 at approximately 3:00 a.m. Investigations are ongoing to determine why Jones was walking in the westbound lanes of the freeway. Sadly, she was struck by a Toyota Corolla near Perris Boulevard and Indian Street.

Upon arrival at the scene, emergency responders pronounced Jones deceased. The driver of the vehicle involved in the accident stopped immediately and contacted authorities. The identity of the Toyota driver has not been disclosed.
