Accident – Death – Obituary News : An individual employed at a resort in Tagbilaran City, Bohol was apprehended for his involvement in illegal drug activities during a recent anti-drug operation on Wednesday evening, June 5, 2024. The suspect, identified as Joebert Estoque, 44 years old, was taken into custody during a buy-bust operation in Barangay San Isidro, Tagbilaran City, Bohol at 8:27 p.m. on the aforementioned date.
The operation was a collaborative effort between the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Bohol Provincial Office, the Bohol Police Provincial Office (BPPO) Drug Enforcement Unit, the Philippine National Police (PNP) Maritime Police Station (MARPSTA), and the Tagbilaran City Police Station. Notably, Barangay San Isidro had previously been declared a drug-cleared barangay.
During the operation, law enforcement officials seized three packs of suspected shabu weighing approximately 55 grams from Estoque, with an estimated street value of P374,000. Additionally, a mobile phone, motorcycle, and other non-drug evidence were also confiscated. Estoque, a newly-identified drug personality, was reported to authorities by a confidential informant.
Leia Alcantara, the spokesperson for PDEA-7, disclosed that the suspect was allegedly accustomed to disposing of 50 to 100 grams of drugs weekly. Following his apprehension, Estoque is currently in police custody awaiting the filing of drug-related charges against him. The suspect is expected to face charges for the possession and distribution of illegal substances.
