Two of St James’ most-feared gangsters met their demise within a span of 24 hours in separate incidents this week, striking a blow to the criminal underworld in the parish.

The deceased have been identified as Collin ‘On Cock’ Walters, an enforcer associated with the notorious 13 Street Gang based in Tucker, near Montego Bay, and Ackeem ‘Rizzla’ Brown, the leader of Dump Gang located in Retirement.

Senior Superintendent Eron Samuels, the police commander for St James, issued a stern warning during a press conference following Walters’ death on Wednesday, urging all wanted individuals across the parish to surrender themselves to the authorities as law enforcement adopts a zero-tolerance stance against criminal activities.

Samuels highlighted the division’s successful seizure of 42 firearms and 822 rounds of ammunition since the beginning of the year, reinforcing the relentless efforts to eliminate illegal weapons and those wielding them from the streets.

Collin ‘On Cock’ Walters

Reports indicate that Walters, implicated in the gun-related murder of 28-year-old Nigel Smith in Red Square, Tucker, was traced to a guest house in Montego Bay on Wednesday afternoon. A confrontation ensued, leading to a fatal exchange of gunfire where Walters was fatally shot. A Browning single-action pistol with three live rounds was recovered from the scene.

Smith’s killing was allegedly in retaliation for the deaths of Marlon ‘Cash Money’ Medley and Durant Burke, prominent members of the 13 Street Gang, who were reportedly slain in Trelawny on May 25 by Tucker Street Gang members, escalating the violent feud between the rival factions.

Ackeem ‘Rizzla’ Brown

Brown, known for his involvement in lottery scamming and the illegal firearms trade, engaged law enforcement in a gunfight after being cornered in Retirement on Thursday night. His criminal activities extended to recruiting and training individuals, such as former St James most wanted man Nester ‘Zaddo’ Gallimore, further solidifying his influence over criminal networks in western Jamaica.

At the time of his death, Brown faced charges for possessing a prohibited weapon in the Western Regional Gun Court but had absconded after being granted bail, evading legal consequences for his actions.
