FIREBAUGH, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – Authorities in Firebaugh are on the lookout for a local man accused of stealing a truck during a transaction on Facebook Marketplace in Tulare. The Firebaugh Police Department revealed this information on Wednesday.

According to reports, on May 18, a resident of Tulare contacted the police to report that their vehicle had been stolen following a transaction on Facebook Marketplace. The victim had agreed to sell their lifted Ford F-250 for around $20,000 to a Firebaugh resident known as Leornado Flores Corona.

During their meeting at a gas station in Tulare, the victim stated that Leonardo handed them $1,000 in fake currency and requested to take the vehicle for a test drive. However, Leonardo failed to return the truck to the owner.

Investigation and Suspect’s Actions

Following the incident, the stolen vehicle was spotted in Firebaugh a few days after it was reported missing in Tulare. Additionally, Leonardo is suspected of being involved in another case of vehicle theft in Kerman, which occurred under similar circumstances.
