Bourdukofsky : Anchorage Police Shooting: Surveillance Video Reveals Suspect’s Last Moments

An incident in downtown Anchorage has led to the shooting and injury of a 22-year-old man, identified as Bourdukofsky, by officers with the Anchorage Police Department. The shooting occurred in the early hours of Saturday morning, near the Pioneer Bar, where a group of people were seen running and a struggle ensued between individuals.

According to court documents, Anchorage police were called to the scene following the altercation. In footage captured at 2:26 a.m., a person identified as D.S. can be seen running while holding his injured leg. Moments later, officers can be seen running on Second Avenue, with two of them firing their guns.

The series of events culminated in Bourdukofsky being shot by police and subsequently taken into custody. He remains in the hospital, causing delays in his scheduled court appearances.

Calls for Transparency Surrounding Officer-Involved Shootings

The incident involving Bourdukofsky is one of three officer-involved shootings that have occurred within a span of 21 days in Anchorage. There have been demands for police to release body camera footage of the incidents, but APD Chief Designee Bianca Cross has stated that the footage will only be made public once investigations are completed.

During a news conference, Chief Designee Cross emphasized that in each of the situations where police were called, the individuals shot were armed. She highlighted the importance of following protocol and completing thorough investigations before considering the release of any footage.
