Kirk Willinger : “New Haven Homicide-Suicide Leaves Two Dead”

ALLEN COUNTY, Ind. (WOWO) – A tragic incident of homicide-suicide in New Haven has resulted in the deaths of two individuals. The man involved has been identified as 61-year-old Kirk Willinger, while the identity of the woman has not yet been disclosed.

The distressing event unfolded in the 900 block of Canal Place Circle shortly after 6:15 p.m. Authorities were alerted to the situation by an employee at the apartment complex. Upon arrival, law enforcement officers found a man lying on the floor, with the door to the premises locked.

Forced entry was necessary to gain access, and Willinger was pronounced deceased at the scene. Subsequently, the woman was discovered inside a locked bedroom, having sustained what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

The official cause of Willinger’s death has been determined to be multiple gunshot wounds, marking the 16th homicide in Allen County this year.
