A devastating crash on Interstate 75 in Tift County, Georgia, has resulted in the loss of five lives, including at least one individual from Atlanta. The tragic incident occurred on Tuesday night, prompting a swift response from Georgia State Patrol (GSP) troopers and MCCD officers.
The crash took place near mile marker 69 and involved a collision between a vehicle and a tractor-trailer. Preliminary investigations by GSP revealed that the vehicle was travelling in the center lane when it veered off course, striking the parked tractor-trailer on the right shoulder before coming to a halt.
Tragically, the driver of the vehicle and three passengers succumbed to their injuries at the scene, while another passenger was rushed to a local hospital where they later passed away due to their injuries. Among the deceased, 22-year-old Serigne Mbodji from Atlanta has been identified, with efforts underway to ascertain the identities of the other victims.
