Accident – Death – Obituary News : The St Catherine authorities are currently conducting an investigation into the tragic incident involving the suspected drowning of a teenage boy in the Rio Cobre on Tuesday.

The victim has been identified as Deandra Garvey, a 16-year-old student residing on Delido Drive, Ensom City, Spanish Town in St Catherine. Garvey’s lifeless body was recovered from the river at approximately 1 p.m. on the day of the incident.

According to reports from the police, it is believed that the young teenager ventured into the river for a swim and unfortunately encountered difficulties that led to his untimely demise by drowning.

This heartbreaking incident serves as a stark reminder of the dangers that can accompany recreational activities in bodies of water, highlighting the importance of caution and supervision, particularly for young individuals.
