Malachi Waters : Suspect Arrested in Millsboro Shooting: Fatal Incident Leads to Arrest

MILLSBORO, Del. – Delaware State Police have taken a suspect into custody following a tragic shooting that resulted in the death of a young man on Tuesday morning.

Authorities responded to a call about a shooting at approximately 10:45 a.m. on Saint Thomas Boulevard. Upon arrival, they discovered a 26-year-old man who had sustained a gunshot wound. Despite being rushed to a nearby hospital, the victim succumbed to his injuries.

Initial investigations indicate that the perpetrator, identified as 19-year-old Malachi Waters, confronted the victim with a firearm and proceeded to open fire. Following the incident, Waters fled the scene in a vehicle.

The suspect’s car was located shortly afterwards, and law enforcement officers intercepted the vehicle in Delmar, close to the Delaware-Maryland border. Waters attempted to escape on foot but was promptly apprehended in Delmar, Maryland.

Waters is set to be extradited to Delaware where he will face charges of first-degree murder and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.
