GARY, Ind. – A man has been apprehended on Tuesday morning in connection with a tragic shooting incident that took place in Gary earlier this year.
Billy Antonio Cross Jr. is accused of fatally shooting a 33-year-old individual on April 30.
The distressing occurrence unfolded in the 4100 block of West 23rd Ave, Gary, Indiana. Law enforcement authorities swiftly responded to reports of gunfire in the vicinity and discovered a man with gunshot wounds.
The victim was subsequently identified as Kylin Bursey. Bursey was found lying in the street near a vehicle and was rushed to Methodist Northlake Hospital where he was tragically declared deceased.
Cross has been formally charged with counts of murder, possession of a firearm, operating a loaded machine gun and possession of a machine gun.
The Lake County Prosecutors Homicide Task Force successfully obtained charges against Cross on May 8.
