Tragedy struck in Playa del Rey on Tuesday evening as one person lost their life and four others were injured in a multi-vehicle collision. The incident occurred on the 8800 block of Vista Del Mar, near Dockweiler State Beach, at approximately 7:55 p.m.
Firefighters respond to the scene
Upon receiving reports of the collision, firefighters rushed to the scene to assess the situation. They discovered a total of five individuals involved in the crash, with two of them trapped inside their vehicles and in need of immediate rescue.
Victims rushed to hospital
Three of the victims were in critical condition and were swiftly transported to a nearby hospital for urgent medical attention. Another victim, in fair condition, was also taken to hospital for further evaluation and treatment.
Identification of survivors
The surviving victims have been identified as two women, aged 18 and 30, an 18-year-old man, and a 16-year-old boy. As the investigation into the collision unfolded, the deceased victim remained inside one of the vehicles as LAPD officers worked to gather information.
