A tragic incident unfolded in Santa Ana as a 19-year-old man, identified as Angel Junior Vuelvas, was shot to death, according to authorities. The Santa Ana Police Department reported that Vuelvas was found on the ground with multiple gunshot wounds in the 1100 block of South Poplar Street.
The shooting took place around 6:40 p.m. on Monday evening, and despite being rushed to the hospital by paramedics, Vuelvas succumbed to his injuries. Officer Natalie Garcia stated that while a motive for the shooting was not immediately clear, it appeared to be gang-related.
As of now, no arrests have been made in connection with the shooting. Santa Ana police homicide detectives are urging anyone with information to come forward and assist in the investigation.
