The body of a woman was discovered hours after she was reported missing on Monday in southeast Alabama, authorities confirmed on Tuesday.
Sheriff Eric Blankenship of the Henry County Sheriff’s Office received a report about a possible missing person around 8 a.m. on Monday.
Following the report, investigators from the Henry County Task Force initiated a search across several addresses that the woman was known to frequent.
At approximately 11:30 a.m., authorities located the woman’s body in the 2500 block of Calhoun Drive. The city where the woman was found remains undisclosed at this time.
The deceased has been identified as 39-year-old Crystal Sharie Jarvis.
Following the discovery, the Henry County Sheriff’s Office requested the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences to perform an autopsy.
Authorities have taken one individual into custody on unrelated charges as a person of interest in the case.
