A 41-year-old Saginaw woman was shot inside the Olive Garden restaurant on Eastman Avenue in Midland on Sunday afternoon, June 2. The incident has led to the arrest and charging of Robert Monit with six felonies, according to the Midland Police Department.

Upon responding to the scene, law enforcement encountered Monit, who allegedly resisted arrest before being apprehended. Monit has since been identified as the suspect in the shooting incident at the popular dining establishment.

The charges brought against Monit include one count of assault with intent to murder, two counts of felony firearms, one count of dangerous weapon carrying with unlawful intent, one count of domestic violence – aggravated, and six counts of assaulting, resisting, obstructing a police officer. His bond has been set at £2 million.

Monit is scheduled to appear in court on June 18 for a probable cause conference to address the charges levied against him in connection with the Olive Garden shooting incident.
