During the search, a small key fob-like Taser was found on Hall’s person, which belonged to the woman. Body camera footage captured the moment of Hall’s arrest as he lay down in the middle of the road.
Upon questioning, Hall expressed confusion as to why the police were called on him. The woman explained that it was not uncommon for her neighbor’s cats to trigger the car alarm, prompting her to investigate. A search of the vehicle uncovered a black Nokia cellphone that belonged to Hall, receiving calls from someone named “Joe DiBlasi.”
Hall claimed that his friend Joe had dropped him off to visit a woman in the neighborhood, but he did not provide further details about the situation. Initially, Hall provided a false name, Jess Hillman, which raised suspicions. His fingerprints revealed his true identity as Jesse James Hall, an escaped inmate wanted for fleeing an Orlando prison in May.
Prior to his escape, Hall had been serving a seven-year sentence for grand theft auto and drug-related offenses. He was taken into custody and transported to Lake County Jail, where he is being held without bond.
