Accident – Death – Obituary News : ROWAN COUNTY, N.C. – A man has been arrested by Rowan County Sheriff’s Office deputies after allegedly attempting to solicit sex from a 14-year-old girl in exchange for vapes, as reported in a news release.
The incident took place on June 2, 2024, when deputies were informed that the owner of the Cannon Tobacco and Vape Shop in Kannapolis, identified as Mohamed Mosed Ahmed Al-Hareurey, was using Snapchat to solicit a minor for sexual favors. Following a recorded conversation, it was revealed that Al-Hareurey offered vapes to the young girl in exchange for engaging in sexual activities.
Further investigations by deputies revealed that Al-Hareurey had made explicit comments on his intentions to engage in sexual acts with the juvenile. Subsequently, he was arrested and charged with soliciting a child by computer and soliciting child prostitution.
Law enforcement officials are currently conducting an investigation to determine if there are any other victims of Al-Hareurey’s alleged predatory behavior.
