June 4 (Daily Mirror) – An alarming video has surfaced on social media, showing a man brutally assaulting a 4-year-old child while he was eating at home. The incident has sparked outrage and concern among the community, prompting a police investigation into the matter.
Suspect identified as Kukul Chaminda alias Bibile Chaminda
The suspect, known as Kukul Chaminda alias Bibile Chaminda, resides in Sampathanuwara, Padaviya. The disturbing video, captured by a neighbour and circulated online, shows the suspect physically assaulting the young child during mealtime.
Repeated Incidents of Abuse
Reports suggest that this is not the first time the child has been subjected to such brutality. It is believed that the suspect has assaulted the child on multiple occasions in the past, but due to fear, no one had reported the incidents to the authorities.
Police Raid Suspect’s Residence
Following the circulation of the video, a team of officers, led by the OIC of Sampathanuwara police station, conducted a raid at the suspect’s residence. However, upon their arrival, the suspect had already fled the scene. A search operation is currently underway to apprehend the suspect and bring him to justice.
