Rockingham County Man Apprehended in Virginia

Recent developments have seen a Triad man, Devron Dillard, facing multiple charges from law enforcement agencies, according to deputies with the Henry County Sheriff’s Office. The incident unfolded when the Eden Police Department alerted the Henry County Sheriff’s Office of their pursuit of a wanted individual on Highway 87 shortly before 12:30 AM on Sunday. The chase led towards Henry County, and upon reaching the Virginia state line, the pursuit was discontinued by the Eden PD.

Eden officers informed Henry County deputies that the suspect, Devron Dillard, was wanted and had illegal substances in his possession. Subsequently, Henry County deputies spotted Dillard’s vehicle, a Ford Explorer, speeding on Morehead Ave at over 100 mph. Despite attempts to pull over the vehicle, Dillard continued at a high speed, prompting deputies to use a precision immobilization technique to bring the Ford to a stop against a guardrail.

Dillard attempted to flee on foot but was apprehended after a short chase. Deputies discovered illegal drugs in his possession, leading to charges of felony eluding, drug-related offenses, and fleeing from law enforcement. Additionally, Dillard was served with eight warrants from the Danville Police Department, with further charges pending from the Eden PD. He is currently held in jail without bond.
