Accident – Death – Obituary News :

In Philadelphia, a 41-year-old man has been sentenced to 11-25 years in state prison for committing two burglaries and two carjackings in Bucks County. Kevin O’Connell, the convicted individual, threatened to inject victims with a syringe during these crimes, according to the Bucks County DA’s Office.

As part of his sentence, O’Connell must have no contact with the victims, undergo a drug and alcohol evaluation, and pay over $30,000 in restitution. He entered a plea of no contest to multiple charges, including robbery, theft, assault, and terroristic threats.

O’Connell was arrested in August 2022 after carjacking an 83-year-old woman in Bristol. The woman reported that O’Connell approached her car window, asked for money, threatened her with a syringe, and drove off with her car keys, causing her injuries in the process.

Police in Philadelphia tracked down O’Connell the next day driving the stolen car. DNA evidence also linked him to another carjacking in March 2022, where he used a similar method to steal a vehicle at a local McDonald’s.

The sentencing judge remarked that O’Connell had stolen the victims’ sense of safety, stating, “You didn’t just steal their possessions, in some way, you stole their lives.” Additionally, O’Connell pleaded guilty to burglary charges for stealing tools and money from residences in May 2022 and March 2022.
