Montgomery County Police have identified the victim of a fatal motorcycle crash that occurred over the weekend in Silver Spring, Maryland.
The incident took place in the early hours of Saturday, June 1, at the intersection of University Boulevard West and Kerwin Road. The collision involved a white 2023 Tesla Model 3 and a black and green 2019 Kawasaki ZX636 motorcycle. The motorcycle driver, identified as 28-year-old Brian Antonio Martinez Gamez from Silver Spring, was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to investigators, Martinez Gamez was riding eastbound on University Boulevard West towards Kerwin Road when the Tesla driver, who was turning left from northbound Kerwin Road onto westbound University Boulevard West, collided with him. Despite attempting to avoid the oncoming vehicle, Martinez Gamez struck the driver’s side of the Tesla.
The driver of the Tesla remained at the scene of the accident, but their identity has not been disclosed by authorities.
Montgomery County Police are urging anyone who may have witnessed the collision or has information about the incident to contact the Collision Reconstruction Unit detectives at (240) 773-6620.
