(CBS DETROIT) – A man from Michigan has been taken into custody after allegedly shooting a woman in the neck during a domestic altercation at an Olive Garden restaurant on Sunday afternoon, according to police reports.
Law enforcement officials were called to the Olive Garden located at 6803 Eastman Ave. in Midland following reports of a shooting incident inside the establishment at approximately 4:40 p.m.
Within minutes of receiving the distress call, officers arrived at the scene and encountered the suspect, who put up a resistance before eventually being apprehended.
Subsequent investigations uncovered that the individual in question, a 41-year-old resident of Westland, had purportedly discharged a firearm at a 41-year-old woman from Saginaw, resulting in a gunshot wound to her neck.
The injured victim was promptly transported to a nearby medical facility for treatment of her injuries.
Authorities have determined that the unfortunate occurrence was confined to a domestic dispute between the suspect and the victim. The male suspect has been taken into custody at the Midland County Jail, where he is awaiting formal charges to be filed against him.
The investigation into the incident remains ongoing as law enforcement officials seek to gather further evidence and information surrounding the circumstances of the shooting.
