Man Arrested on Gun and Drug Charges After Roxbury Party Turns Violent

A 25-year-old man from Foxborough, Joshua Carvahlo, is facing multiple charges following his arrest at a party in Roxbury on Saturday night. The incident occurred at 60 Annunciation Road, where a large group of more than 30 people were engaged in a violent fistfight, according to Boston Police.

Carvahlo has been charged with carrying a loaded firearm without a license, carrying a firearm without a license, possession of ammunition without an FID card, defacing the serial number of a firearm, firearm possession with a prior violent and/or drug crime, and possession with intent to distribute Class B drugs. These charges were detailed in a statement released by Boston Police.

Officers responded to reports of a large group fistfighting at the location around 11:16 p.m. on Saturday. Upon arrival, they discovered a significant number of individuals drinking and congregating in the area.

During their investigation, police observed a man dressed in all black, later identified as Carvahlo, separating himself from the group and moving behind a parked car. After bending down under the vehicle, the man returned to the group.

Officers followed the man behind the car and discovered a firearm concealed inside a sock. The gun was equipped with a metallic feeding device containing six rounds of ammunition, and its serial number had been tampered with, according to the police statement.

Upon arresting Carvahlo, authorities found a significant quantity of crack cocaine, approximately 14 grams, in his possession.

Carvahlo is scheduled to appear in the Roxbury division of Boston Municipal Court to face these charges, as confirmed by the police.
