Accident – Death – Obituary News : A 27-year-old woman, identified as Lipi, the daughter of Maharashtra cadre IAS officers, tragically took her own life by jumping off the 10th floor of a building near the Mantralaya in south Mumbai in the early hours of Monday morning. Lipi, a law student, leapt from the building near the state secretariat at around 4 am. Despite immediate medical attention at GT Hospital, she was pronounced dead.

Authorities revealed that Lipi, who was pursuing a degree in LLB in Sonipat, Haryana, had been struggling with anxiety over her academic performance. A suicide note was discovered at the scene, in which she expressed that no one should be held responsible for her decision. The Cuffe Parade police station has since registered a case of unnatural death in connection with the incident.

Her father, Vikas Rastogi, holds the position of principal secretary in Maharashtra’s Higher and Technical Education Department, while her mother, Radhika Rastogi, is a senior IAS officer within the state government. This heartbreaking incident echoes a similar tragedy that befell Maharashtra cadre IAS officers Milind and Manisha Mhaiskar in 2017, when their 18-year-old son also succumbed to a fatal fall from a high-rise building in Mumbai.

In a separate incident last month, a 30-year-old woman reportedly took her own life by jumping from a high-rise building in Nashik city, Maharashtra. Tragically, her two children were discovered deceased in their home by authorities. The woman leapt from the terrace of Hari Vandan Apartment in the Konark Nagar area, with her husband away from home at the time of the incident.

These distressing events serve as a stark reminder of the mental health challenges faced by individuals across society. It is essential to prioritize mental well-being and seek support when needed to prevent such tragic outcomes.
