A 34-year-old man from Lake Elsinore, California, has been apprehended on charges of selling narcotics in Riverside County. Mauricio Hernandez-Estrada was taken into custody following an investigation prompted by reports of drug trafficking in the Lake Elsinore and Wildomar areas in November 2023.
Law enforcement officials identified Hernandez-Estrada as the primary suspect in the case. Despite being arrested on three separate occasions for alleged narcotics-related offenses, including sales, the reasons for his release on each occasion remain unknown, according to Sgt. Jarrod Meissen.
Following collaboration with the Inland Violent Crime Suppression Task Force, deputies secured a federal indictment against Hernandez-Estrada. The suspect was subsequently arrested on Thursday, with authorities reportedly discovering substantial evidence indicating possession with intent to distribute narcotics.
During the arrest, law enforcement officers seized a significant quantity of illegal substances, including approximately 120 grams of fentanyl, 200 grams of methamphetamine, 61 grams of heroin, 217 Xanax pills, and 42 oxycodone pills.
