Accident – Death – Obituary News :

A St. Louis man has been charged by the Circuit Attorney’s Office for the fatal shooting of Shanchez Jordan in the Dutchtown neighborhood earlier this year. The incident took place on February 3, at around 8:40 p.m. on Gasconade Street, near Marquette Park. Jordan, aged 40, was found dead at the scene with a gunshot wound to his head.

Suspect identified

According to the probable cause statement from the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, investigators determined that Jordan had received a phone call inviting him to a meeting in the area. The call was traced back to the phone of Anton D. Moore, the suspect in the case.

Police recovered a .380 ACP caliber cartridge case at the crime scene, which they believe to be linked to Moore, who is a known felon with a history of violence. The gun used in the shooting was also connected to a previous incident involving Moore.

Charges and Legal Proceedings

Anton D. Moore, 32, has been charged with first-degree murder and armed criminal action in relation to the death of Shanchez Jordan. Moore was already in custody at the time of the charges, facing other criminal cases including unlawful possession of a firearm and first-degree domestic assault.

During a court hearing, a circuit court judge denied setting a bond for Moore, citing the severity of the charges against him and his criminal record. The case is now in the hands of the legal system as the investigation continues.

Authorities are urging anyone with information about the case to come forward and assist in the ongoing investigation. The community is also reminded to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the police to help prevent similar incidents in the future.
