PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A 25-year-old man is facing a slew of charges after allegedly abducting a 47-year-old woman in Portland, Oregon, in the early hours of Friday, according to police reports.
The disturbing incident unfolded at approximately 1:40 a.m. when the man, identified as Ra Fet, purportedly encountered the woman near SE 146th and Division and offered her a lift home. However, when they reached SE 112th, the woman reportedly attempted to exit the vehicle.
Despite her efforts, Fet allegedly accelerated and prevented her from escaping, leading to a harrowing ordeal.
As the car raced on, a physical altercation ensued between the woman and Fet, culminating in the man allegedly striking her in the face. In a desperate bid for freedom, the woman managed to leap out of the moving vehicle and flee on foot.
Frantically screaming for aid, the injured woman sought refuge in a nearby driveway until law enforcement arrived. She was subsequently treated for cuts and bruises sustained during the ordeal.
Approximately 40 minutes later, police apprehended Fet after locating his vehicle. He was taken into custody and booked into the Multnomah County Jail on charges of kidnapping, sex abuse, coercion, menacing, assault, reckless driving, and reckless endangerment.
