The collision occurred between a white 2023 Tesla Model 3 and a black and green 2019 Kawasaki ZX636 motorcycle, resulting in the death of the motorcyclist, identified as 28-year-old Brian Antonio Martinez Gamez of Silver Spring.

The Montgomery County Department of Police’s Collision Reconstruction Unit is currently investigating the fatal collision that took place shortly after midnight on Saturday, June 1, 2024. According to preliminary reports, the Kawasaki motorcycle was travelling eastbound on University Blvd West towards Kerwin Road when it collided with the Tesla Model 3, which was turning left from northbound Kerwin Road onto University Blvd West.
Despite Martinez Gamez’s efforts to avoid the collision, he ultimately struck the driver’s side of the Tesla, leading to the fatal outcome. The driver of the Tesla remained at the scene and is cooperating with the authorities.
