A 42-year-old man from Haddon Township has been charged with arson for allegedly setting fire to a vehicle at a residence in Haddonfield last October, as well as other instances of criminal mischief, according to the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office.

The incident occurred on the 1000 block of Concord Circle in Haddonfield at around 1:15 a.m. on Oct. 21. Surveillance footage from the property captured the suspect, identified as Michael McNeely, pouring gasoline onto the vehicle before igniting it. McNeely was apprehended in Haddonfield on May 17 and is currently being held at the Camden County Correctional Facility pending a court appearance.

In addition to the vehicle fire in October 2021, Haddonfield police had previously responded to two other vehicle fires at the same location in October 2017 and June 2021. These incidents are still under investigation. Furthermore, in June 2019, authorities were called to the residence after a concrete block was thrown through a window. McNeely has also been charged with criminal mischief in connection with that incident.

The prosecutor’s office has identified McNeely as a suspect in cases of stalking that occurred between 2019 and 2023 in Haddonfield and Medford. He has been charged with criminal mischief and harassment for vandalizing a bench with spray paint on High Point Drive.
