Accident – Death – Obituary News :

In a shocking turn of events on Saturday, June 1, the South Lake Tahoe Police Department responded to a disturbing report of a victim who had been stabbed multiple times. The incident, which took place around 11:15 a.m., sent shockwaves through the peaceful community of South Lake Tahoe.

The alleged perpetrator, identified as 43-year-old David Valenzuela of South Lake Tahoe, was the subject of a police manhunt after the incident. Valenzuela barricaded himself inside his residence, refusing to cooperate with authorities and surrender peacefully.

Given the gravity of the situation, the SWAT team and crisis negotiators were called to the scene to handle the standoff. The South Lake Tahoe Police Department issued a public advisory, urging residents to avoid the area of Lapham Dr. due to the ongoing police activity.

Despite numerous attempts by negotiators to persuade Valenzuela to surrender peacefully, he remained defiant. As a last resort, tear gas was deployed to force Valenzuela out of his residence. Subsequently, he was taken into custody without any further incidents.

Valenzuela now faces charges of assault with a deadly weapon and resisting/delaying a law enforcement officer. He is currently being held at the El Dorado Jail without bail. Meanwhile, the victim of the stabbing incident is reported to be in stable condition at the hospital.

The South Lake Tahoe Police Department expressed their gratitude to the California Highway Patrol – South Lake Tahoe, El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office, and the South Lake Tahoe Fire Department for their assistance in handling the situation.
