Police in Changamwe, Mombasa County, are currently on the lookout for a man who is alleged to have fatally stabbed his 24-year-old daughter during a heated domestic dispute on Saturday evening.
According to reports from the authorities, the man engaged in a violent altercation with his wife which escalated to a point where their daughter intervened in an attempt to defuse the situation. Tragically, she ended up being the victim of a fatal stabbing, suffering multiple wounds to her stomach and chest.
The harrowing incident unfolded in the quiet neighbourhood of Mcheleni at approximately 5:00 pm, sending shockwaves through the community.
Neighbours who rushed to the scene upon hearing the commotion acted swiftly to transport the injured woman to Portreitz hospital. She was later transferred to Coast General Hospital for further medical attention, but tragically succumbed to her injuries while undergoing treatment.
Law enforcement agencies are currently in pursuit of the suspect, identified as Simon Mumbi, who managed to flee the scene following the violent altercation.
The lifeless body of the young woman now lies at the Coast General Hospital mortuary, awaiting further investigations into the tragic incident.
