Pol. Maj. Gen. Panthana Nuchanart, deputy director of the Immigration Department, revealed the findings of the investigation on May 29. Upon inspecting the suspicious parcel, law enforcement officials uncovered approximately 10 grams of cocaine cleverly concealed inside a red remote-controlled car and a remote control.
The package was intended for a recipient named ‘Jerome’ in Siem Reap, prompting law enforcement to launch a thorough investigation to trace the sender. The individual behind the drug shipment, who had used the alias ‘Gregore’, was located in a residential complex in the Phatthanakan area of Suan Luang district, Bangkok. The suspect was identified as a 39-year-old French national known as ‘Macon’, who resided with a Thai woman.
An arrest warrant issued on April 23, 2024, charged the suspect with attempting to illegally export type 2 narcotics (specifically cocaine) for commercial purposes and distributing narcotics to the public. During interrogation, the suspect confessed to purchasing the drugs from an unidentified African individual at a nightclub in Bangkok. He admitted that he intended to continue sending drugs if he had not been apprehended by the authorities.
