On the evening of May 31, tragedy struck in Barnwell County as a single-vehicle collision claimed the life of 21-year-old Bryce Tolliver. The incident, which occurred around 7:40 p.m. on Patterson Mill Road, nearly two miles south of Snelling, has left the community in mourning.
South Carolina Highway Patrol has reported that Tolliver was driving a 2009 Chevy Sedan westbound on Patterson Mill Road when the accident took place. Initial investigations suggest that the vehicle veered off the roadway to the right, overcorrected, and then veered off to the left, ultimately colliding with an embankment and overturning before striking several trees.
Following the collision, Tolliver was airlifted to Augusta University Medical Center, where they were tragically pronounced dead. The loss of a young life in such circumstances has undoubtedly sent shockwaves through the community.
