According to the Delaware State Police, the collision occurred at approximately 2:28 pm when a Toyota RAV-4, driven by the Harbeson woman, was struck by a Mercedes E-Class operated by a 62-year-old woman from Camden. The tragic event unfolded as the vehicles crossed paths at the intersection of Harbeson Rd and Carpenter Rd.
The victim, identified as Lucia Amaya, was rushed to a nearby medical facility following the crash. Despite efforts to save her, she succumbed to her injuries. Additionally, two occupants in the Toyota, a 44-year-old female and a 4-year-old child, sustained serious injuries and are currently receiving medical treatment. The condition of these individuals remains uncertain at this time.
