Vishnu : “Kerala Crime: Man Assaults Housewife in Daylight”

A young man, identified as Vishnu (21), was arrested by the police in Kollam for allegedly sexually assaulting a woman in broad daylight in Chithara. The incident occurred on Thursday afternoon when the man, hailing from Challimukku, visited the woman’s house in Chithara.

According to reports, the man approached the woman’s house while her husband and child were away and requested a glass of water. After being given the glass, he asked for another, and when the woman went to the kitchen to fetch it, he barged in and molested her. The woman’s cries for help alerted the neighbours, who managed to apprehend the accused before handing him over to the Chithara police. It was revealed that the accused, Vishnu, has a history of drug addiction and involvement in multiple criminal cases. He has since been remanded in custody following his court appearance.

In a separate incident in Kozhikode, a 51-year-old man was arrested for sexually abusing minor girls in Thamarassery. The accused, who resides in Thamarassery, reportedly assaulted two neighbouring girls in his home. The girls confided in their friends, who then informed their parents about the disturbing ordeal. Following the parents’ complaint, the Thamarassery police took action under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and arrested the perpetrator.
