A man has been arrested and charged with attempted criminal homicide following a violent altercation that took place early Saturday morning in East Nashville, according to the Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD).

Police officers were initially responding to another incident in the vicinity when they heard approximately four to five gunshots emanating from the parking lot of a business located in the 900 block of Woodland Street.

Upon arrival at the scene, law enforcement officers discovered a 29-year-old man with non-life-threatening injuries to his legs. The suspect, identified as 30-year-old Dequan Gray, was swiftly apprehended by authorities.

Investigations revealed that the two men had been engaged in an argument that escalated into violence, resulting in gunfire. Two firearms, one of which belonged to the victim, were recovered from the scene. Gray has since been charged with attempted criminal homicide, reckless endangerment, vandalism, and two felony gun-related offences.
