A tragic incident occurred in New Haven, CT, early Saturday morning, resulting in the death of a man following an argument.
The incident was reported to police when hospital staff alerted officers at approximately 1:09 a.m. about a walk-in patient with a gunshot wound. Upon examination, it was revealed that the victim, identified as Travis James from New Haven, had actually sustained a stab wound and not a gunshot wound.
According to reports, James was brought to the hospital by a private vehicle after an altercation at Sam’s Mart on Whalley Avenue. The argument between James and an unidentified individual escalated, leading to James being stabbed before being rushed to the hospital. Sadly, James was unresponsive and in critical condition upon arrival at the hospital and later succumbed to his injuries.
In response to the incident, detectives were dispatched to both the hospital and Sam’s Mart to investigate the scenes further.
