PLEASANT HILL — Three individuals have been taken into custody on Friday in relation to the fatal stabbing of a 37-year-old man from Pittsburg earlier this year in Pleasant Hill, according to authorities.

The suspects, Pablo Gutierrez-Morales, 31, from Concord, Vanessa Vera-Aguilar, 24, from Antioch, and Jazmin Ruiz, 25, also from Antioch, have been charged with murder and conspiracy to commit murder. They have been booked into the Martinez Detention Facility, Pleasant Hill police Capt. Matt Kristic revealed in a news release.

Santiago Jacobo was discovered deceased around 4:50 a.m. on Feb. 10 in the primary parking lot of Pleasant Hill Park, located at 147 Gregory Lane.

Following an extensive investigation spanning several months, it was unveiled that the suspects and the victim were acquainted with each other, having worked together at an assisted living facility in San Ramon, Kristic disclosed.

Evidence suggests that the suspects meticulously planned and executed the attack on Jacobo after he completed his shift as a custodian at Pleasant Hill Park.

Prior to his demise, Jacobo had been in a romantic relationship with Vera-Aguilar, while Gutierrez-Morales was pursuing a relationship with her, Kristic stated.

“Our thoughts and condolences go out to the Jacobo family,” Kristic expressed in the news release.
