Accident – Death – Obituary News : Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: A school teacher was arrested by Daulatabad police in connection with the tragic suicide of a 15-year-old girl on May 17. The victim, a minor, was found hanging at her residence in Maliwada. The accused, identified as Ajay Saswad from Asegaon village in Gangapur, was brought before a court on Friday and remanded for three days of police custody.
The arrest came after a complaint was lodged by the girl’s mother, revealing the distressing circumstances that led to her daughter’s untimely death. The victim, a Grade IX student at a private English-medium school, was allegedly pressured by her teacher, Ajay Saswad, to enter into a romantic relationship with him. Unable to cope with the situation, the young girl took her own life.
Janardhan Salunke, police inspector at Daulatabad police station, disclosed that an initial case of accidental death was registered following the incident. However, further investigations and statements from the victim’s kin shed light on the disturbing events leading up to the tragic suicide.
In a bid to provide context, a similar incident involving the vice-chancellor, professor, warden, and matron of Bundelkhand University has also surfaced. They have been booked for abetment to suicide following the demise of student Shristi Rai in Samta hostel, as reported by the father of the deceased, Jai Prakash. The case is currently under investigation with SP Gyanendra Kumar Singh and Pooja overseeing the proceedings.
