RIDGELAND, Miss. (WJTV) – The community is mourning the loss of six-year-old Skylar Thomas, who tragically passed away after being found unresponsive in a Ridgeland hotel pool earlier this month.
Details of the Incident
The heartbreaking incident took place on Saturday, May 11, just after 5:30 p.m. at the Drury Inn located in the 600 block of East County Line Road. Ridgeland Police Chief Brian Myers revealed that Skylar was discovered on the edge of the pool, having been swiftly removed from the water by a family member.
Following the discovery, Skylar was immediately rushed to Children’s of Mississippi in Jackson for urgent medical attention. Despite the efforts of medical professionals, Skylar tragically succumbed to the incident and passed away.
