Accident – Death – Obituary News :

Authorities in Shoreline, Wash., have charged a 16-year-old boy with murder in connection to the tragic shooting death of a woman at a local apartment complex. The suspect, identified as Jaden P. Taylor, allegedly shot 50-year-old BillyJo K. Perkins multiple times on the night of Saturday, May 18.

According to court documents, the incident unfolded when Perkins attempted to intervene in a confrontation between Taylor and another woman at the Ballinger Homes apartment complex. Surveillance footage from the scene captured the entire sequence of events, which took place around 10 p.m. near the office management building.

The footage reportedly shows Taylor walking with two women, followed by a small group. Perkins, who was walking her dog, passed through the group as they approached. The video then shows a man in the group engaging in a conversation with the women before brandishing a pistol. A blue laser dot is seen on one of the women’s faces as the man points the gun at her.

Perkins, in a brave attempt to intervene, approached the man with the pistol and grabbed his hair from behind. In response, the man spun around, struck Perkins in the head, and pushed her into a car, with the laser dot now trained on her chest. The chaotic scene escalated as the group dispersed, and Perkins eventually collapsed to the ground.

After the shooting, Taylor was allegedly seen stumbling and injuring himself before fleeing the scene in a black Honda. Later, two 16-year-olds arrived at separate hospitals with gunshot wounds, with Taylor identified as one of them. Despite initially denying involvement, Taylor’s appearance and the recovered evidence linked him to the crime scene.

Following further investigation, detectives found incriminating evidence at Taylor’s residence, including ripped jeans matching those worn by the shooter in the surveillance video. Additionally, they discovered bullets and an empty box for a blue laser sight, consistent with the weapon used in the shooting.

Taylor now faces charges of second-degree murder, first-degree assault, and second-degree unlawful possession of a firearm. Authorities have requested bail to be set at $2 million for the young suspect.
