Authorities have confirmed that Tom Parry, 49, and his 12-year-old son Richie, from Cheshire, were found dead in the Scottish Highlands after a hillwalking trip. The pair went missing after visiting Glen Nevis and Glen Coe, and their bodies were discovered on Stob Coire nan Lochan, Glen Coe.

Police have stated that the tragic deaths are believed to be the result of a fall, with no suspicious circumstances surrounding the incident. The community has come together to mourn the loss of Tom and Richie, who are described as loving and caring individuals.

Gemma Parry, Tom’s wife and Richie’s mother, expressed her gratitude towards the Scottish and Cheshire police, as well as the mountain rescue service and other emergency services involved in the search. She described Tom as a devoted father and husband, while Richie was known for his energy and love for quizzes, maths, and sports.

The Parry family has been overwhelmed by the support from the community of Alsager in Cheshire and their family friends during this difficult time. Insp Katy Duncan of Police Scotland extended her condolences to the family and thanked all those who assisted in the search and recovery efforts.

A report has been submitted to the procurator fiscal for further investigation into the tragic incident.
