Anna Beaumont : “Teen Drowns in Theme Park Pool: Tragic Incident Investigated by Police”

A 13-year-old girl, identified as Anna Beaumont, was tragically found unresponsive in a pool at Discovery Cove, a marine-themed park in Orlando, Florida. The incident occurred around 11:25 a.m. on Tuesday, and despite being transported to a local hospital in critical condition, Beaumont passed away on Wednesday.

The Orange County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that Beaumont’s cause of death was ruled as an accidental drowning by the medical examiner’s office. The park’s spokesperson expressed their condolences, stating, “Our thoughts are with this family, and out of respect for their privacy, we won’t be commenting further.”

The authorities are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the tragic incident, with the sheriff’s office stating that they have no additional information to share at this time. Discovery Cove is part of a group of theme parks owned by United Parks & Resorts Inc., previously known as SeaWorld Entertainment, Inc.

This heartbreaking incident at Discovery Cove is not the first of its kind. In March, an 8-year-old child drowned after getting sucked into a hotel pool pipe at the Double Tree Hotel in Houston, Texas. The child was discovered by authorities after she went missing from the hotel.

Tim Miller, founder of Texas EquuSearch, revealed that the rescue team used cameras attached to long poles to check the pool’s pipes after draining it. It took approximately 13 hours for rescuers to recover the girl, with Miller alleging a malfunction that caused water to be pulled into the pipe instead of out into the pool.
