Arrest Made in Fatal Shooting on Minnesota Avenue, NE
The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) has recently announced the arrest of a suspect in connection with a fatal shooting that took place on the 27th of May on the 4000 block of Minnesota Avenue, NE.
Reports from MPD documents indicate that officers responded to the scene following a report of a shooting. Upon arrival, they found an adult male victim with multiple gunshot wounds, who unfortunately succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
The victim has been identified as 23-year-old Chidozie Njoku.
During their investigation, officers observed a man matching the description of the suspect fleeing the area. They pursued and subsequently arrested him, recovering a firearm in the process.
Shannon Updike, aged 20, has been taken into custody and charged with first-degree murder while armed in relation to the incident.
