Accident – Death – Obituary News : Madhya Pradesh police have apprehended a man for his alleged involvement in attempting to abduct a 22-year-old woman during her wedding in Ashok Nagar, Madhya Pradesh. The victim, who is a survivor of sexual assault, was targeted by her assailant while she was in the midst of marrying another man.
The shocking incident was captured on video and swiftly went viral on social media platforms, showcasing a group of men, led by the prime suspect identified as Kalu, also known as Salim Khan, brandishing swords and sticks as they forcibly dragged the woman out of her residence.
Fortunately, the woman was rescued thanks to the prompt intervention of concerned neighbors who rushed to the scene upon hearing the distressed cries of the victim and her family. Initially, the perpetrators attempted to intimidate the onlookers, but fled the area as the crowd swelled in numbers, leaving the woman behind.
Reports from various media outlets indicate that the accused individual had previously assaulted the woman and had a history of criminal activities. He used the circulated video as a means to defame the woman and her family, even threatening them to prevent her from marrying anyone else.
The harrowing incident transpired around 6 pm on a Thursday when Kalu, accompanied by his associates Jodha, Sameer, and Shahrukh, descended upon the woman’s residence in a bid to disrupt her wedding ceremony. The situation escalated as the assailants not only targeted the woman but also inflicted injuries on her family members, breaking her father’s leg and her brother’s arm in the process.
Amidst the chaos, the perpetrators also issued threats against the victim’s family and her fiancé, instilling fear and apprehension within the community. In response to the grave situation, the police have taken swift action by registering two First Information Reports (FIRs) based on the complaints filed by the woman and her father.
The initial FIR was lodged on the woman’s behalf, citing charges under sections 376 (rape) and 363 (attempted kidnapping), while the second FIR was filed by her father, alleging offenses under sections 323 (causing bodily harm), 294 (using vulgar language), and 506 (criminal intimidation), as reported by Hindustan Times.
