Hyderabad: In a heartbreaking incident that has shocked the community, a nine-year-old boy tragically died by suicide in Chinthagudem village, Gangaram mandal, Mahabubabad district on Friday.
The young victim, identified as E. Harsha Vardhan, was a bright class 6 student at the Seethanagram government school. During his summer break, Harsha Vardhan expressed a desire to sport a trendy hairstyle. However, his father, Kantha Rao, a hardworking farmer, refused to allow it. Devastated by his father’s rejection, the boy ingested pesticide on May 26.
Harsha Vardhan was quickly rushed to a private hospital in Gangaram and later transferred to Gandhi Hospital in Hyderabad for advanced medical care. Despite the efforts of the medical team, the young boy succumbed to his injuries on Thursday after a valiant four-day fight for his life.
Providing details of the case, Gangaram sub-inspector B. Ravi informed the press that a case has been filed under Section 174 of the CrPC (suspicious death). A post-mortem examination was carried out at Gandhi Hospital in Hyderabad to determine the cause of death.
