LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – Lubbock police are renewing their efforts to solve a hit-and-run case that left a 21-year-old man dead over seven years ago.
Authorities are reaching out to the public for any information that could help identify the driver responsible for the tragic incident. A possible reward is being offered for valuable leads.
The incident took place in the early hours of Feb. 10, 2017, when a passerby alerted a police officer to a man walking along the access road near Marsha Sharp Freeway and Avenue Q. The officer quickly responded to the scene and discovered the victim, later identified as Alcadio Barron, lying in the street.
Upon investigation, it was determined that Barron had been struck by a vehicle that fled the scene, leaving him fatally injured. Despite efforts to track down the driver, the case remains unsolved to this day.
Detective Jason Rodgers, who is leading the investigation, is urging anyone with information to come forward. He can be reached at (806)775-2825.
