Patna, 30th May (PTI) – Bihar Police have made another arrest in connection with the brutal murder of a final-year undergraduate student at BN College on the campus of Patna University law college. The suspect, identified as Aman Kumar from Maner in Patna, is the second person to be arrested in the case.
The victim, 22-year-old Harsh Raj, was fatally beaten on Monday on the university campus. The prime suspect, Chandan Kumar, was apprehended on Tuesday. Police have revealed that the murder was driven by an old enmity.
A statement from Patna Police disclosed that the Special Investigation Team (SIT) arrested Aman Kumar from Sultanganj area of Patna on Thursday. Both Aman Kumar and Chandan Kumar, who reside in Jackson Hostel at Patna College, allegedly conspired to kill Harsh Raj. During interrogation, Aman Kumar confessed that a longstanding feud with Harsh Raj was the motive behind the attack.
Based on Aman Kumar’s testimony, the SIT is currently on the lookout for three additional suspects – Raja Babu from Supaul, Shivam from Madhepura, and Prakriti Anand from Begusarai. Arrest warrants have been issued for them by the court.
The fatal incident occurred as Harsh Raj was leaving the examination centre and was ambushed by a group of students. He was rescued by the police in a wounded state and rushed to the hospital, where he tragically succumbed to his injuries.
Investigations into the case are ongoing as the police continue to pursue leads and gather evidence to ensure justice for the victim and his family.
